Want to Help?

SPSA is an all-volunteer organization comprised of your friends and neighbors. For more than a century, SPSA has lovingly preserved, maintained and kept Sandy Pond Schoolhouse open to the public. As members, we enjoy the satisfaction of working together with friends and neighbors on a project that benefits the entire community. Our reward comes from happy conversations with visitors, and the smiles and laughter of children and their families as they tour the schoolhouse. As one of our recent visitors said, “It’s like a step back in time. Everyone should see this.”

Our challenge today is to ensure the preservation of Sandy Pond School for future generations, as our predecessors did for us. We are always looking for new members interested in helping with our mission. Our work and schedules are flexible. Whatever your skills and interests, you’ll be welcome, and the fun part is free.

Treasurer Needed

One specific need we have at this time is for a Treasurer. The Treasurer is one of four officers and a member of the SPSA Board, which meets monthly, either in person or online. The Treasurer’s primary duties include:

· Managing the Association’s bank account.

· Preparing quarterly and end-of-year financial reports for the Board.

· Filing the Association’s annual federal tax return. (Form 990-N)

· Filing the Association’s annual report to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Corporations Division.
